It's hard being a mom. It's even harder when you're single, have to care for and arrange for other people to care for your kids, and simultaneously hold down a decent job with good benefits. Depending on the ages and number of kids in the house you may have to deal with school-work, after school activities, the constant attention of an infant, doctor visits, cooking, cleaning, entertaining, feeding, bathing, putting to bed, oh yea and some time to relax for yourself! It's not hard to see that time is extremely limited or non-existent entirely for the working single mother. It's down-right unbearable and it never ceases to amaze me just how strong these women are and have to be to survive. But it's never enough. I mean, how is a single mother expected to get out of debt? Save money for a (gulp) vacation or for the kids college fund? How about trying to move into a larger house with a bigger yard or afford a new family vehicle? In short, how is the single mother going to be able to actually make money she can USE? Not get to survive but use for herself, the kids, or both.
Working for someone else will demand a schedule of set times that you are forced to be away from your home and family. The pay is small when averaged against the total time you dedicate specifically for this type of job. Going to bed early, getting ready for work, dropping off the kids at school or daycare, driving to work, working, driving home, etc. It all adds up and consumes your life. You'll always wind up spinning your wheels. You must find a way to work for yourself.
Starting a business from scratch is possible on your own. Doing it while trying to hold a job and manage your household at the same time is ridiculous. What you need is a business you can get into for low cost that offers training, support, has an established history of success and growth, that you can run on your own relatively easily. Your first option is finding a Network Marketing business you can manage from your home on your own time.
Network marketing businesses can be very rewarding and lucrative for the ambitious ones out there. Many single mothers have literally made fortunes in their spare time with some of these companies. Do a quick Google search for top MLM companies and pick one that you have a real interest in. Find out what it costs to sign-up. What kind of training is offered and how you get paid. Then, most importantly, find your sponsor. This step is absolutely crucial. The last thing you want to do is join the company without a mentor or with a weak one. You need to do some searching online for the top sellers in the company. Find a way to contact them and ask them a few questions related to your goals. Once you get a successful sponsor with similar goals that's demonstrated a willingness to help you it's time to join. Most good sponsors will have an automatic system of successful "cloning". Meaning they will tell you step-by-step how to get rolling.
If not, you'll have to do some digging on YouTube for MLM videos and learn the basics yourself. Basically, in a network marketing business, you'll get paid for selling actual products. Products that you either buy at wholesale or collect payments for and send in on commissions. The other way is the way that can get you rich and is the reason why people love MLM. It's called building your down-line. Every company does it a little differently but in a nutshell you will get paid a good chunk of change for every person you get to join the company as a distributor like yourself. Not only that, but for every person, that person you brought in gets to join, you'll get paid as well, and so on down 3, 5, or 7 levels! Now this is called time leveraging. You are creating multiple "you's" that continue to do the work you created for them while you concentrate on other things. Like enjoying your kids soccer game without worrying about making dinner and getting to bed late again.
It's all about finding targeted leads and getting them to buy into the system just like you did. But it doesn't stop there. You want them to be successful as well right? You should because you'll get compensated for their success! You do the work once, then get the rest of the world to do the same work for you, and get paid the same. So all you have to do then is find a way to get a large volume of targeted traffic. For every person that joins send them a kit detailing exactly how to do what you did to bring them to you. On and on and on. Once you've gained some traction you will be making money 24/7. While you sleep, take the kids to the park, or enjoy a much deserved vacation!

Post videos on YouTube describing exactly why your business is the best "right now" and why you are the sponsor they should choose. Choose a video in your niche market and your baseline conversion rate will skyrocket overnight. Of course you can always do it the old-school way and make business cards, fliers, signs, newspaper ads, bumper stickers, etc. But the best way is simply to create a blog. These are free and allow you to post fun, creative, interesting, and useful information for people that all leads back to your company web page. This type of traffic is long-term and is a great way to benefit from actually helping people. It takes a little time but be patient and stay motivated. If you spend just one hour a day on building this business, in a year, you'll be a pro and could be making twice what you made last year in months! All while relaxing at home with your kids.
