Changes on the French Soccer Team

After a devastating performance for the French National Soccer team in South Africa, they've appointed a new coach. Laurent Blanc will now be the man in charge in bringing this squad back to the powerhouse they once were.

His first move is a tough move that sets the tone early. Every player that was on the World Cup roster will be dropped from their next international match. He means business and if his players don't, then they can go home!

The French federation approved of this move. I guess they think it's the right move and have allowed Blanc to make these suspensions after the embarrassing performance they put on.

This power move shows the players whose boss. France couldn't even win a game in the group stage, but to make matters worse the team went on strike while in South Africa. For a team to protest and refuse to practice is a disgrace.

Blanc has a lot of work to do before their friendly match vs. Norway on 8/11. He must select an entire new squad. This is in preparation for the European Championship as they must change things around. Their previous performance at the Euro Championship was also a disgrace as they failed to win a game.

The French side faced drama during the World Cup due to the newspapers making things worse. They publicly shared Anelka's harsh words of former Coach Domenech as he spoke his mind at halftime vs. Mexico. It was the French federation that made the decision to send Anelka home.

This is when things got even worse. The entire squad decided to strike and sit out of practice the next day. To make things worse, the captain Evra was caught on camera in an unpleasant conversation with their fitness trainer.

This created a ton of publicity in France to the point that political leaders were even questioning this situation. Legendary players shared their opinions as well and Lilian Thurman went on to say that Evra should be banned from the French side. Blanc has a lot of work to do, but things can't get much worse.
