Today we have become so dependent on technology, that we end up wishing we could apply all the short cuts that we usually use when operating on laptop or PC in real life. Most of us secretly wish that we could have access to keyboard of our life to make relevant changes as and when needed, just like editing an EzineArticle until it meets its ideal guideline. Following is a list of shortcuts that most of us would love to have at our finger tips all the time.
Undo (Control+ Z):
To help us undo all the awful events in live. It will help you catch that train or bus that you missed by a second. How wonderful it would be to undo a break up, chronic disorder. It is almost like getting a second chance. And everyone deserves a second chance.
Cut (Control+ X), Copy (Control+ C) and Paste (Control+ V):
Numerous uses! It completely depends up on your creativity and need. I would definitely copy Katie Holmes' height, cut the dollars from Bill Gates' bank account and paste them in mine. Also, helpful while writing exams, submitting projects, would not you say? In addition when you hear someone mentioning something interesting or factual and you do not have a pen and paper to jot it down, wish you could just copy paste his words in your memory.
Find (Control+ F):
When I forget to bookmark novel, it always frustrates me to look for the page where I left. Find tool in novels, periodicals and your textbooks will be always appreciated. Also while waiting at crowded and bewildering Dadar station (most crowded railway station in Mumbai) this will be darn helpful to find out which train will be arriving where and how to reach to that platform. Looking for home keys in my overstuffed handbag or choosing what to wear from your packed wardrobe. The list can go on depending up on how careless you are about your stuff.
Replace (Control+ H):
Replace all the days when your ATM balance shows alarmingly low balance (especially when you are out to shop, hog, drink or watch a movie) you could just replace it with the account balance of the day your salary gets credited. Or replace not-so-impressive body of your boyfriend with John Abraham or Brad Pitt.
Save (Control+ S):
There are so many moments (proud mark sheet, first kiss, promotion, so on); visuals (a sunset, that smile on of your mother when she thought no one was looking, embarrassed face of your friend when he farts in front of everyone) and sounds (of innocent laughter, wind-chime like music of splashing waves, when your boy friend promised to pay all your bills, etc) that we wish we could keep with us forever.
Help (F1):
When you do not know- how to cope with a heart break without sounding bitter, which career to choose when everyone around is so sure about what they want to do in life, which dress to wear, how to propose the love of your life without sounding too desperate, how to fight for your right without sounding egoistic or when you are forced to watch Ram Gopal Verma ki Aag or Paa (Indian movies), F1 key in life would definitely come handy.
Close (Alternate+ F4):
SHUT Up! Ideal when your boss is on his you-are-worth-trash spree, or when your parents are busy comparing your mark sheet or payslip with someone else. Also it aids you when your professor is talking nonsense about why-not-to-bunk, attend-lectures. Do not like what he says or does just switch it off!
Switch (Alternate+ Tab):
How wonderful it would be if you could switch your locations and situation, as and when you want. Bored at office just switch to your favourite holiday destination of watch Soccer World Cup at home with friends. You son or parents are acting tough switch to time when they listened to you and were more loving.
Delete forever (Shift+ Delete):
I am sure there are many influences in our lives whose existence should be erased completely- Your exes, horrendous traffic of Mumbai, Untimely power cuts of Navi Mumbai, global warming, politicians, Playboy magazine for kids and so on.
Properties (Alternate+ Enter):
When you check out that hot guy on next table, one always wished if we could know all about him before opening the folder, to know his previous monetary history, career aspirations or if is carrying too many viruses from previous relationship.
By now, most of your minds are already churning out ideas of how these and many more short cuts in real life would make things simpler and happier. Would love to hear many more additions to my humble list of shortcuts and their utilization.
